It’s just easy to wish to have something that isn’t yours. To admire the ones that have it, wish to be them, envy them even. But no one ever understands the responsibility of having those things than the one who has it. Imagination is often far different from reality. I think that’s one of the concepts people are ready to come to terms with.
Do you think if you were in that person shoes you will be able to do what they’re doing to get the things that they have?
You blame luck, blame life, blame your family, blame friends, blame everything on the earth and outside of it for the way your life turned out, forgetting that the life that you are blaming everyone else for is yours. You’re the one that lives those days by yourself. You are the one who makes decisions about your life but somehow it’s someone else that gets the blame for your errors?
I do see angle those who have truly been treated unfairly by life. Where they feel like they take one step forward one day and five steps back the next day. Where they are close only going through trials and tribulations. From one obstacle to another. It constantly feels like the odds are always against them. Even when something good happens it doesn’t last long enough before something worse happens.
It’s sad and frustrating to always feel like failure. At the same time I’ve also seen people rush from the same ashes and do amazing things. I’m not here to encourage anyone because even I’m tired of all the encouraging words. I’m just here to say that it’s possible.
Your dreams and aspirations are possible. It may not be happening now but it could. I’m not saying it can because sometimes dreams don’t come true and unfortunately that’s how life goes.
The reason most of us feel like we are behind or delayed or late is because we compare our lives to others. We watch those on social media posting the amazing things they’re doing both the fake and real ones. Then we sit at home and begin to question ourselves.
We see our agemates and even people younger than us live lives that we can only dream of. Then we look at ourselves and ask questions that have no answers. Because no 2 lives are the same and every single individual has a different path in life. We hyper fixate on the 20-year-olds that make millions but closer eyes to the 50-year-olds just made their first million.
I’m not here to encourage anyone. You have no idea what those people had to do to get the lives that they have. And if they were to provide you those opportunities, you might not be able to do it. It’s not only about the nefarious means the money is made but the ability to grab an opportunity and use it well.
I’ve heard so many people say if they were given this or that amount of money, they would do this or that. But let’s be realistic; most people don’t know how to handle wealth. They can’t manage money that is why they do not have it. If by some miracle they were given the amount of money they were asking for, the money wouldn’t last.
If you were given this amount of money, what would you do with it?
Most of the time they don’t have an answer. Some say things like buy house or car but how many of those people actually have a step-by-step plan on how to multiply the money they have been given. How many even think about it?
People are so obsessed with their definition of luxury and how to just get there but forget that goal shouldn’t be just getting there but how to remain there and possibly go higher. Most people live in the present and forget the future. Most people want to impress their peers and strangers on the internet, but those things don’t matter.
So many people have stories of how they tasted money and lost it. Some lost it because of mismanagement and naivety, others because of arrogance and pride. There are so many ways to make money but there are many more ways to lose it.
I’ve also come to the understanding that we probably aren’t ready for what we think we want. There might be something in us that we lack or are yet to learn or unlearn that is blocking us from being able to get where we are supposed to be.
The character development challenges that are being sent our way for us to learn from and grow, we keep making the same mistakes and missing the lesson. That’s been in my mind a lot these days.
What am I missing? What do I need to learn or unlearn? What am I doing wrong?
It just takes one thing to get it. The beauty or turmoil of life is that you never know what it is.
