I was almost done with my second glass champagne. I like to say sober during all these events most likely because getting drunk when you plan on getting some new prospective partners and sealing very important business deals would most likely end in a tragedy. I wasn’t here for pleasantries, I was here for business.
I was dressed glamorously but what choice did I have, this event wasn’t just a casual one. It was the gathering of the Alvero. The most secluded event of the year. Its guest list ranked from celebrities to high class business moguls. This was definitely her setting for business.
During my scan of the guests I stumbles upon Mr. Matthew Greame immediately after the pleasantries then went on to discuss business. Towards the end of their discussion I felt a familiar presence that I had left behind along with an eventful past. Closing my discussion with Mr. Greame I was about to storm off when I felt a hand holding mine in place.
I didn’t need to turn back to know that it was him. His palms still had that sensation whenever he touched me and they were still as soft as always. Within even a sideways glance I said, “Could you please release me?”
“I could but I won’t”, I could practically feel the smirk on his face as he said those words.
“I advise that you release me this instant, I’m not in the mood for a scene”, I said.
“Neither am I”, suddenly I felt him pressed up against me and his lips at my ear.
“What I’m really in the mood for is standing right in front of me”.
“Then get it and let go of me”.
“That’s quite a contradiction cause all I see is you”. He was really smooth wasn’t he but he was walking on really thin ice if he thought I would let him anywhere near me much less in my panties.
“Well then you need to visit an optician”, I said calmly.
“I don’t think my illness a be solved by an optician”
“Then that’s your problem”, I released myself and stormed off taking with me another glass of champagne from one of the waiters.
As I left the hall and drowned my drink and leaned against the wall and took in some much needed air. My eyes remained closed as my breathing calmed. The next thing I felt was someone’s lips on mine. My first reaction was to knee the asshole in the crutch but I knew these lips anywhere. I had kissed them severally before. Exactly ‘before’ as in past tense not anymore. I still hadn’t reacted to the kiss and I wasn’t planning to. Even as his hadn’t rested on my hip I still didn’t move.
“Why do you resist me?”, he trailed kisses to my neck.
“Why shouldn’t I?”, I pushed him off me and threw the empty glass deadly close to him as it shattered pieces. “Stay the away hell away from me”, the anger clearly visible in my eyes that he hadn’t stopped looking at.
“I’m not the same person that I was back then. If you don’t believe me that’s your business but the next time you come near me…”, I walled closer to him making us only a breath apart away from each other, “or touch me…”, I poked his chest with my finger ,“I won’t miss”.
I looked down at the glass and back up at him hoping he would take the hint cause I wasn’t playing this time then I walked out.
