You don’t need to know

“I don’t want to argue with you”, she stated.

“Why is it that every time I want to have a serious conversation with you, you consider it an argument”

“Because that’s what it turns out to be most of the time”.

“That’s not the point”.

“So what is the point then?”

“The point is that you never want to talk about things with me”.

“Oh really. Okay, that’s fine”, she leaned against the counter and folder her arms, “Since you want to have this discussion then go ahead”.

“I’m being serious”.

“I don’t believe I ever said either one of us was joking. You said you wanted to talk so go on ahead and talk”.

“Its not that simple I….”

“Oh wow I never knew talking could be so difficult”.

“But that’s what you said wasn’t it?”

“Yes it was but….”

“But what?”

“Shut up”.

“I’m sorry, what!”

“That’s exactly my problem with you. You didn’t listen…”

“I do”.

“But whenever this topic comes up its like your a totally different person”, he walked closer to her, “I know every single time I start this conversation it always goes south and I’m always left with more questions than when I begun. I also know that this is a very sensitive topic for you but I want you to trust me”.

“Not with this”.

“The more you keep avoiding it is the more curious I become. At first when you always brushed it off I thought it was a harmless emotional attachment or something. But then you started to get aggressive like you were really hiding something dangerous”.

She sighed, “Cause it is”.

“And you’re trying to protect me, right?”

“The less you know the better”.

“Why?”

“Its for your own good”, she walked past him, “You wanted a conversation now you’ve had it”.

He held her arm, “This conversation is far from over and you know it”.

She pulled her arm from his grasp, “It is for me”. She left.
